Heartache!! well.... the Kananaskis Rally was quite a ride for us. Our Co-driver pulled out the day before recce, and we had a series of small issues to overcome. However, we had a fellow driver who wasn't competing fill the co-driver chair for us, and although I had to get used to hearing some calls in Russian we started to set a strong pace! With a stage win in the first set of stages, we were sitting comfortably in 3rd. The competition was very fast though and we knew it would be a tough battle. So we set out against these fast teams on a long stage when our intercom failed. With no notes to follow, and a flat tire on stage we lost some time and fell to fourth. Our amazing crew wired in another borrowed intercom and kept the car running strong until we lost power on the second last stage! AAAAAAH! Oh well. We had a blast running, and we learned a lot, and set some competitive stage times. Thanks to all the volunteers and organizers, the event was a blast! We look forward to setting out competitively in the 2012 WCRC!
Freshly back from SEMA and meetings with some of our supporters and hopefully some new supporters. So many great innovations in the automotive world. I was extremely impressed with the new sequential gearbox from OS Giken for the R35! It was also an honour to have our car featured on the OS Giken display! We are exhausted but ready to hit the Kananaskis Rally this weekend!

Pacific Forest Rally!
Wow. First of all the PFR was an amazing event! The organizers did an amazing job co-ordinating 30 teams, over 2 days of Recce, and 2 days of racing covering 17 stages. Pitch black, heavy dust, cliffs, mud, dirt, tight technical stages, open fast sections, through beautiful scenery and a chance to jump the car frequently = awesome rally! Our car and team performed admirably setting some strong stage times during the daytime stages. Unfortunately our lights failed and we were stuck running the night stages with insufficient lighting dropping us from the 5th place we were holding to 9th. Check our Pro Rally section for pictures! It was an amazing time though, and we are looking forward to the Kananaskis rally next!

Thanks to our on board video, and shots from our crew and fans we have a short video to share with you from the August 28th test day. This was a fantastic chance for us to shake down the rally car even further, with the car performing strong and flawless all day. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it for you!

We have won the 2011 Super Special DiRT Cup!!! Thanks to our amazing sponsors and crew, the car performed flawlessly all day through the grueling DiRT Cup stages. Photos to follow in our rallycross section.

We have just received this amazing photo from professional photographer Michael Stellmach as he came out to see our team at Race City this past weekend for the Time Attack series. Also, our team has been hard at work continually honing the rally car through this series in preparation for the last 3 Pro-Rallies of the season coming up quickly. We were thrilled as we see our times improving rapidly through the improvements with a three second gain in the last session alone without changing tires or power!

Wow we have been busy! Testing the rally car on tarmac, starting the time attack series, prepping an MX-5 for autoslalom and starting that series, and testing the rally car on gravel, and running the Rocky Mountain Rally! We placed 3rd overall at the first autoslalom event, and we were up to 4th regionally at the RMR when fuel issues forced us to retire. We have added 3 new videos in the rally section, 2 test days, and footage from the RMR. It's going to be a great summer!

The race car was on display with the VEX Performance crew at the Calgary International World Of Wheels. With roughly 30,000 people attending there was a lot of attention and a constant string of questions on the rally car. The best part was the steady string of people taking pictures of and with the car! Here are some pictures when we could get some clear shots of it, and we noticed the first close up pictures of the motor and interior of the car that we have posted here, we hope you enjoy.
New design for our racing website! 2011 is here, and we have a new design to bring the best pictures, videos, and racing information to you! We would like to start by showing you a video with our fantastic new team videographer Kirsten Bohn! or at least.... teasing you a little ;)

July 24th 2010 Wow, it has been a VERY busy period of time lately! The 2010 Mountain Trials rally was a huge amount of fun, and a great learning experience! We made several improvements to the Rally car, and our team and ran very strong. Our brakes, although built extremely aggressive, faded quickly on the first stage up a twisting road on the side of the cliff. The pads started shooting flames and all but disappeared on the race down the same stage! When we made it to service our crew chief Marc, replaced our pads with help from a fellow competitor Graham Bruce! Thanks again Graham! Now we were ready to attack, and attack we did. Up a very sketchy stage called Princeton Cutoff for our second pass. What an amazing stage! However, it has a reputation as a car killer. We caught a puncture 5 km before the end in our left rear tire! We pushed hard on the flat, and even launched the car in the air into a sideways slide that transitions to pavement! It was fun. Omac and I jumped out right after the stage to change the tire as fast as possible to make it around for another pass on time! We started the next stage and unbeknownst to us, Princeton Cutoff had punctured our Transmission as well. The gearbox started failing as it was out of oil, and we had to run 2 more stages, with the metal on metal sound, until service. We radioed ahead to Marc and he prepared our service area to pull the bottom off the gearbox, and the team made an amazing repair sealing the puncture! As we drove the transit stage to the final 23km stage which we had to race twice, we noticed that 4th and 5th gear were now missing. Ouch. The last stage "Helmer" is a long, flowing yet technical stage which we would be using high 4th gear a lot! We finished the first pass with our motor carrying constant high revs and halfway through the final stage a rod bearing finally failed, and we shut down to save the rest of the motor. At this point we had moved up to 4th overall, 2nd in class, and 1st rookie! We also gained a lot of invaluable experience. We were disapointed in the damage to the motor and gearbox, however pleased at our speed and how much we learned. We have pulled the car apart now to repair and improve various components and we are looking forward to competing back out in Merritt for the Pacific Forest Rally in October!
New Partnership Announced! FLIPP Advertising has come onboard with us for marketing, and has designed the new look for our race car and our team! More pics and info coming soon, check out our sponsors page if you need an amazingly innovative marketing team for your business! Not to mention the tongue-in-cheek-ness of a rally car being sponsored by a company called FLIPP, we hope it's not prophetic.
May 29th 2010 We had an amazing rally at the 2010 Rocky Mountain Rally! The conditions were treacherous, with mud and warm wet and heavy snow lining the roads, but Johnny and Co-Driver Orrin managed to keep it on the road and post some decent stage times! The new car held up really well, yet still suffered a center diff malfunction so the rally was run with rear wheel drive only! Our service specialist Marc did an amazing job in the service area keeping the machine and the drivers working well. The team has developed a huge list of improvements to make us more competitive as we venture forth. For now we are super pleased with a 6th place overall finish and 2nd in rookie, for this race making it to the end is an awesome achievement in itself! Looking forward to the Mountain Trials rally June 12th!
